T’was the week before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. The Bush Team houses were quiet because they were out wrapping presents for good little boys and girls who need some extra care. The team walked into CityKidz and with wide eyes saw the Toy Store and said OH MY! The thought of children’s eyes sparkling when they realize these toys are for them made the teams members hearts warm and fuzzy. We are blessed to have the opportunity to help out an organization that is very close to our hearts and we are reminded for all we are thankful for in our lives.
The volunteering elves and staff members have been busy organizing donated toys for 4,000 children who live in the inner city. The team was moved to see all the hard work CityKidz puts into children who have no one at home, whether the parents are absent or they are busy working to get out of poverty, CityKidz is a place where the children have a safe haven to learn and grow as a child should. Did you know that if a family only has one child registered in a CityKidz program the organization makes sure that every child in the family has gifts to unwrap Christmas morning, in fact, Coleen and Donna ended up wrapping presents for a family of 3 children! Just imagine the joy on the children’s face as they open up their presents and see a colouring book, a hockey stick, Shopkins, a baby doll, a Nerf football and the list of toys would go on for pages.
